As a primary care physician, I tailor each person's needs with a relatable, patient-centric approach. When making a final diagnosis, I often use the analogy of a bear chasing someone in the woods. For example, if they are diagnosed with diabetes, the bear is diabetes and will always chase you but it's up to you to keep the distance between you and the bear. Not only do I collaborate with the patient to construct a realistic plan of care, but also with other specialist to maintain an open line of communication.
