Bio sketch
Dr. Charlie Rouse was born and raised in Waynesboro, Georgia. He is a graduate of Morehouse College where he received a B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then earned his Masters in Science in Nutrition from Georgia State University. Dr. Rouse then received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee University in 1991.
He completed his Internal Medicine Residency through the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, S.C. In 1997, Dr. Rouse completed a Cardiology Fellowship from the University of Tennessee, Memphis. In 1997, he became a part of the Carrollton community as he joined Dr. William Rogers practice. In 2007, Dr. Rouse became the founder and owner of West Georgia Cardiology Associates in Carrollton, Georgia with the vision to be a practice distinguished by an extraordinary level of caring and personal service. From May 2007 to present, the practice has continually thrived as it is patient-centered and community focused.
In 2011, Dr. Rouse opened the doors to his current practice at 129 Bankhead Highway; a state-of-the-art cardiology office which purposes to empower the total you, mind, body and spirit by the delivery of high quality, cost-efficient and timely cardiovascular services through prevention, diagnosis, treatment and education.
Dr. Rouse has affiliations with American College of Cardiology, Association of Black Cardiologists, American Medical Association, and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Beyond those affiliations, West Georgia Cardiology, under Dr. Rouse's leadership, is very active in the local Carrollton Community by providing Health Fairs in the area, sponsorships to the local school systems, as well as sponsorship to many other organizations.
Dr. Charlie Rouse is proud to welcome patients to a practice where real caring and compassion combine with education and experience to provide the best in cardiology care. His philosophy of service to the patient along with the support of a handpicked, knowledgeable team creates excellence in both patient care and clinical results. West Georgia Cardiology is not only concerned with heart disease but also allows its' patients to enjoy a better quality of life. The current expansion of preventative services allows our practice to be even more proactive in reducing risk factors and the onset of cardiovascular disease.
In addition, Dr. Rouse and his wife, Deirdre are the co-founders of the Rouse Foundation established in 2013 dedicated to serving disadvantaged populations evidenced by the local support projects relieving human suffering and their global support of disaster relief and medical mission trips; Africa, Mexico, Nevis and Honduras are a few of the places where mission work has been undertaken by Dr. Rouse and The Rouse Foundation.
Dr. Rouse is married to Deirdre Rouse. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Chaturia (Christopher) and one son, Camary and the proud grandparents of twin boys born October 2023. During Dr. Rouse's free time, he enjoys the outdoors, fishing, writing poetry, and vacationing with his family.
